When your Tropical Air Systems technician arrives at your home or business to install your new AC and/or heating unit, we first will assess the situation and give you a rundown of our instillation procedure. We then we remove the old unit and/or handler from your home and loaded onto our truck for disposal. Yes, we handle the disposal.
Before we install your new system, we add a protective metal base to serve as a buffer between the AC system and your home floor. So if for whatever reason the AC system needs to be moved or replaced, your flooring will remain untouched.
We then go onto test pressure, Freon, electrical and air flow after we have finished instillation to ensure your unit is fully functional.
We also understand that people are cost-conscious when investing in air conditioning system, which is why we offer customers great financing options through GreenSky®.
The unit that is located outside of the house is the condenser which houses the compressor that sends a stream of refrigerant into handler, located inside the home, where the air is then cooled and dispersed into your home.
We first check to insure that the refrigerant, or Freon, is not low and the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant is at the level it should be. If it’s not, the results will be lukewarm air. And Nobody want’s that in Florida!
If we find that the refrigerant isn’t the issue, then we look at the compressor, which may be locked or stuck. Sometimes though, the condenser coils may be clogged due to poor maintenance.
How the condenser coils become clogged is usually when the AC runs for long periods of time, and evaporative coils end up being in lower temperatures for extended periods of time. When the coils climb back up to room temperature, condensation forms on the coils and creates water drainage which are collected in a drip pan. However, when proper maintenance isn’t performed such as coil cleaning, changing of filters, etc., the collection pan gets clogged and causes still water that attracts insects, develops mold and the overall air quality of your home diminishes. So it’s important to keep scheduled maintenance appointments.
Your air conditioning/ heating system is one of the most expensive appliances you have in your home and if you don’t keep up with proper maintenance, just like anything else, it can become in expensive fix.
Simple things to do at home to help maintain your central air system it to make sure change your filter ever 30 to 60 days depending on the filter, and to have you unit serviced once or twice a year. We check the coils, the drain, the Freon, the temperature, and pressure.
